community facility located in the
Hough neighborhood of
Cleveland, Ohio, in the United States.
Facilities
The facilities include a
swimming pool, a
boxing rink, a
skating rink, a small
library, a computer room, a large
gymnasium, and a large
child care facility. There is a daily
soup kitchen and weekly Christian church services.
History
The building was erected in response to the
Hough Riots of 1966. At the building's dedication Major
Carl B. Stokes stood in the gymnasium and stated "This building represents a part of our city that was virtually written off. It stands as a physical affirmation of the faith of The Salvation Army in our community, serving as a hub around which the process of rehabilitation can begin and develop in many lives."
Corpes officers
The present pastors are Major Diana Capanna and Captain Joseph Capanna. There have been many previous Corps Officers. The first was Major Carl Stokes.
